🔍 Code Health Audit Review (01_auditor)

Executive Summary

  • Overall Project Architecture: Monorepo structure containing NestJS backend (/backend), Next.js customer frontend (/frontend/application), and React + Vite admin panel (/frontend/admin-panel).
  • Prisma Schema: High quality schema with indexed lookup fields (categorySlug, suitableFor, artNo, slug), supporting dynamic CMS elements (HeroBanners, VetTestimonials, SmartAdvisorRules, UiText, ScientificTerms).
  • TypeScript & Type Safety: Good type enforcement across NestJS backend and Next.js frontend, but require strict DTO validation across all public REST endpoints and type-safe API client interfaces between Next.js/Vite apps and NestJS backend.

Key Findings

  1. Backend Validation & Exception Handling:
    • main.ts requires global ValidationPipe with whitelist: true and forbidNonWhitelisted: true.
    • Standardized HttpExceptionFilter needs to be globally registered to ensure predictable error payloads across both customer frontend and admin panel.
  2. Data Consistency & Seeding:
    • Real products and data extracted from canina.md and canina.pdf need full database synchronization via prisma/seed.ts.
    • Complete coverage for all 3 user segments: Pet Owners (smart advisor rules, educational terms), Vet Prescribed (artNo, barcode, precise dosage), B2B Wholesale (wholesale pricing, bulk packaging, tier pricing).
  3. Frontend Application & Admin Panel Synchronization:
    • Customer app dynamic components (Hero carousel, Vet testimonials, B2B wholesale portal, Pet health advisor, Scientific wiki, Dynamic texts) must fetch live backend API endpoints instead of static fallback definitions.
    • Admin panel must provide CRUD management for all dynamic models: HeroBanners, VetTestimonials, SmartAdvisorRules, ScientificTerms, UiTexts, Products, Categories, Orders, B2B Approval requests.

Recommendations

  • Enforce strict NestJS architecture with DTO validation and Role Guards.
  • Ensure all static UI text is loaded from UiText table via backend API.
  • Ensure 100% test coverage for critical business paths (Auth, B2B pricing, Cart calculation).
